I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
There is nothing too hard for God (Je. 32:17). If you want to be a success in life, you have to realize that you can do all things that you are attempting to do, not through your own strength, but through Christ Who gives you the strength and power.
Success comes in cans, not cant’s. -Anonymous
It is so easy to try to accomplish our goals in our own strength and leave God out of the picture. As Christians we have to realize that if God calls us to do something that is great, He will also give us the strength and ability we need to achieve it. He will give us the wisdom, knowledge, direction and strength to overcome the obstacles and oppositions we may encounter along the way in trying to accomplish His will for our lives.
We cannot get side tracked and run off and leave God behind. The Bible says that without God we can do nothing (John 15:5). On the other hand, God and you make a majority.
One and God make a majority. -Frederick Douglass
The key in this verse is “through Christ” We truly can do everything with the help of Christ who gives us the strength. We have to learn that we have to lean on the Lord to strengthen us. Our strength is in Jesus. Someone may ask, “Can we really do everything?” This verse is often misunderstood. The power we receive in union with Christ is sufficient to do His will for our lives, and to face the challenges that arise from our commitment to doing his will. He does not grant us superhuman ability to accomplish anything we can imagine.
This verse means that I am able to do whatever God has assigned for me to do. God will strengthen us to do what He has called us to do. We will face troubles, pressures and trials. As they come, ask Christ to strengthen you. An understanding of this verse will help you tremendously in your life to deal with difficulties and remain positive.
Philippians 4:13 teaches us not to try to accomplish things that are not within our God-given ability to accomplish. As leaders, it may get difficult at times but our loving God would not call us or assign us to do anything He has not equipped us to do.
