Words are the most powerful things in the universe! There are two sides to the power of words. Words can carry positive power or negative power. They can carry creative or destructive power. Words are containers for power. Words are carriers of either faith or unbelief. They can also carry death or they can carry life.
If we want to receive the best that God has for us, we must learn to use our words wisely. We have to be careful what we say out of our mouths because words are powerful! Words have creative power. What we say is what we will get. If we don’t want it, we should not say it. God created the universe with words. He spoke the universe into existence with the words of His mouth. We understand that God’s words are powerful, but our words are powerful too, especially if we put God’s Word into our mouths.
You may ask, “How can I put God’s words into my mouth?” Well, God’s words are in the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word. We can put God’s words into our mouths by speaking God’s Word out loud. God’s Word is His promises to us, His children. If you are a Christian and have accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, you qualify for all of the benefits and privileges that are in God’s Holy Word. In the same way God used His words to speak the universe into existence, we can use God’s Word to speak wonderful things into our lives. We can have what we say. We can speak death, negative things, or we can speak life, positive things, into our lives. Remember, death and life are in the power of the tongue. We need to speak life. God’s Word is spirit and life (John 6:63). Speak life today!
Prayer: Lord, help me to speak life, not death into my life and into the lives of others. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
