The God of a Second Chance

For His anger is but for a moment, but His favor is for a lifetime or in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. __ Psalm 30:5 (AMPC)

In other words, trouble doesn’t last always. We serve a God of a second chance. God never gives up on us. We give up on God. God believes in us more than we believe in ourselves.

Life has setbacks. They are a part of life, but you can come back from a setback. You can not only come back, but you can come back better than you were before.

We can see an example of this in the Bible in the last chapter of the Book of Job, chapter 42, mainly verses 10, 12, and 13. God not only restored Job, but gave him twice as much as he had before.

In the first chapter of the Book of Job, Job lost just about everything. Job was the richest man in the East, but he lost it all. God helped Job to come back from a setback.

It is not easy getting back up when you have fallen down. You might be at your lowest. You might feel like you are at rock bottom, but God is right there with you, and He won’t let you down. It may seem like no one else believes in you.  It may appear that your best days are behind you. The world or even sometimes our friends may give up on us, but not God. God believes in you, and that is the only thing that matters. The Lord will never give up on you, so don’t give up on yourself. It’s not over until God says it is over.  Don’t listen to people. Listen to God and His Word. God is for you and wants the best for you.

“Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently”. __ Henry Ford

Don’t give up. Don’t quit trying. Pick yourself up and press on in the name of Jesus. The devil will try to tell you that things will remain the same forever. The devil is a liar, and the father of lies. Don’t believe that. God is a God of restoration.

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. __ Thomas Edison

God gives us a second chance, but it is up to us to be grateful for that second chance and take advantage of it. We serve a God of mercy, love, and compassion. God wants you to succeed.

Someone told me once and I am telling you, “Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.” In other words, keep moving. It might not seem like you are making progress, but you are.

“Any day that we don’t give up puts us one day closer to success.” __ Joyce Meyer

Remember the verse above, joy is coming in the morning. God can give you a fresh start, a new beginning, a second chance. So believe it and receive it today!

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for being a God of a second chance. Thank You for fresh starts and new beginnings. You are a great and mighty God and I give you the glory and honor that you deserve. Thank You. Amen.
