Power in Praise!

I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.   __ Psalm 86:12 (NIV)

There is power in praising God! It is so true that when the praises go up, the blessings come down. Praising God takes you into another realm. It takes you out of the midst of your problems and helps you to see things from God’s perspective.

When we praise God, we magnify Him and His goodness. To magnify means to make bigger. Webster says that magnify means to make great in size; enlarge; to praise or glorify.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.  __ Psalm 34:3 (AMP)

When we begin to praise and magnify the Lord, God becomes bigger and our problems become smaller. God is bigger than our problems.

When you praise God, truly praise Him from your heart, it strengthens you. Praise brings God on the scene, and He begins to work in your life! The Bible says God inhabits the praises of His people.

Psalm 22:3 (MEV) states, “But You are holy, O You who inhabits the praises of Israel.

God delights in our praise! We can love God by praising and worshipping Him, and by telling Him how much we love Him.

There is a difference between praise and worship. Praise takes us into the presence of God. Worship usually goes a little deeper. We should praise God before we present our petitions to Him or ask Him for anything. We should praise God after we pray.  We should praise Him in the midst of difficult situations. We should also praise God throughout the day.  God is worthy to be praise!

Praise is a powerful weapon against our enemy, the devil. When the enemy tries to attack you, use your spiritual weapon of praise to defeat him. When you praise the Lord during difficult times instead of complaining and acting defeated, you become armed and dangerous to the enemy. Praise stops the enemy. So arm yourself with praise today and walk in victory!

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the power of praise. I just want to praise You and thank You for all of your many blessings. I give you honor and I give You glory. You are worthy to be praised. I love and worship You. Thank you that you are bigger than any problem I face. Hallelujah!
